Terms

This page is for those of you who are not attorneys and don’t want to read some big-long legal contract. But would rather read what our terms are in plain English. This does not supersede, or take the place of our legal agreement; but instead is here for you to understand what will likely take place on an average month.

Most credit repair companies do nothing more than send generic dispute letters on your behalf, and therefore it’s easy for them to claim they’ve “done what they promised”. As long as a dispute template was sent every month, they’ve done their job

What We Will Do For You:
We will do one, some or all of the services listed below each month based on your personalized credit profile: Which service(s) we will be doing with you, or on your behalf, will be dictated by your personal profile. Our monthly fees will be charged after one, some, or all of these events have taken place.

• Credit Validation: If you have inaccurate items on your credit report, we may request validation of said items.

• Debt Negotiation: If you asked us to settle debts for you, we will either email, fax or call creditors on your behalf in an attempt to make settlement agreements. We may also be discussing certain terms with you regarding settlement agreements.

• Budgeting: We will assess and make recommendations in regard to your budgets. The likely reasons we would be making recommendations to your budget is for a) you indicated that establishing a savings plan was part of your goals b) you and your credit coach agreed you may need a savings plan to settle outstanding debts.

• New Credit: We may feel that you need, or you may have asked your credit coach to help you establish new lines of credit. We may do that for you (if discussed in your consultation and proper power of attorney forms are on file), or we may suggest you apply for certain cards.

• Updating Your Case: Based on the stage you’re at with Box of Credit, we may need to update your case and/or profile in our system. That could be inputting updates from credit bureaus that you’ve received and forwarded to us. Updating settlement agreements, Implementing identity theft protection or it could be one of your scheduled meetings with your credit coach.

• Suggestions: Depending on the stage you are at in our program; we may email or call you with suggestions. Your credit, financial situation and your goals will likely adjust throughout this process; our advice at that time may also adjust. In the event we feel there is something that needs to be adjusted, we will email or call you with our recommendations.

What We Do Guarantee:

We guarantee that one, some, or all of the above services will be done each month either with you, or on your behalf. If for some reason, we miss all of the above, you will be given the option of a refund for that month, or a free month’s service.

What We Don’t Guarantee:

• We will not ever guarantee removing negative items from your credit report. It’s illegal, accurate items cannot be removed and we will not even try.

• We do not guarantee specific point increases on your credit report. Different actions have different affects to your credit. We have no way of saying how many points a specific action taken will have.

• We cannot guarantee specific settlement agreements—nobody can. We are very successful at it, but the truth of the matter is, that if a debt is legally owed by you, no law says a creditor must settle. You agreed to the terms with that creditor; and they have the right to enforce it through any legal means they see fit.

Your Responsibilities:

Yes, you have responsibilities during this process as well. If you don’t keep yours, how are we expected to keep ours? Further, since our recommendations are what you pay us for, failure for you to keep your responsibilities could result in a void our refund policy and will likely hinder the progress of your case.
In other words, this is important stuff. It’s your credit, your finances, your futures. Find the time to do what’s necessary.

• Correspondences: It’s your responsibility to send us all correspondences from credit bureaus, collectors, courts, creditors.

• Appointments: It’s your responsibility to keep all appointments with your credit coach; or any other member of the Box of Credit Staff. It’s also important to be on time for your appointment.
Make sure we have any updated contact information from you.

• Following the Plan: It’s your responsibility to do anything your credit coach recommends. That could be making deposits to a savings account each month. It could be paying down a credit card, outstanding bill or collection account. It could mean applying for, or closing a credit account.

• Messing with Your Credit: This one could vary with each person, but in general, it’s typically not good to use credit cards. Barring advice from our credit coaches, using, or applying for credit cards could have a negative impact on your credit profile and credit score.
